Check for irregularities. If you're at the windshield chip repair or rear of the car, look along the car to see if there are small dents. These can be seen as distortions in the reflection. If the paint is not smooth in one place, then this could be a place where there has been some damage. Dents as large as a coin can be restored by a panel beater. Dents that are not thoroughly repaired are often filled with polyester resin or fibreglass paste. Tap the surface, or go along it with a magnet. Know whether the panel is made of steel, not plastic, fibreglass or aluminum. If there are places where the magnet will not adhere, then in all likelihood, the panel has been repaired. Ask the owner why the part has been repainted?
Those who want to save time and money may choose to repair small blemishes on their own using a repair kit. These can be purchased at any auto parts store or ordered online. In the kit you will find the epoxy resin and the tools to apply this. Care needs to be taken when using these, and the outdoor conditions must be warm and dry. After the repair is done the windshield will need to be able to cure in the sunlight for a few hours before maximum strength is achieved.
The secret to doing a lot of repairs is knowing where and how to contact people. Mostly it is a function of letting them know you there and able to do the repair. Problem is most people wake up thinking about how to find someone who needs windshield repair.

America is the land of opportunity but that doesn't guarantee success. Trying to start a windshield repair business on your own without any marketing guidance or help is a recipe for failure. Sure, you'll get a thin marketing manual with the repair kit you order from XYZ windshield repair company. But, more than likely it's outdated and not going to be much help. Believe me I know. I wasted more money on marketing my business using the marketing ideas I was given when I purchased my repair kit than I care to remember.
